Christohe Moraux is born in Rodez, France, but lived all his Childhood in the West Indies, before to spend part of his youth in South France. Parisian for more than 15 years, he dedicates himself to painting
.
The artist graduated from the National Shool of Fine Arts and was the best pupil of his colour professor Jean Barde. The works of the artist were shown several times in galleries or at exhibitions in Paris, London, New York or the Caribbeans. His technique is very peculiar since he paints with his hands, lays his linen canvas flat on the ground and turns around until the final gesture: he adds his signature preceded by the year. He hates tools, prefers to have a direct, almost carnal relationship with the canvas. It's a hand to hand fight that is taking place between the artist and the canvas to lead almost to perfection.

His works that he is the most proud of will only have taken him a few hours of very intense work. He gets out of that exhausted, all sweating and splashed with painting. The artist sets his instinct free, dives into his subconscious or takes his inspiration from his trips around the world: Florida, Russia, Israel, Italy, Greece. But the majority of his pictures carry us in the Tropics with their incredible bunch of hibiscus, their parrots and butterflies, their cockfigthings.

For several years, Christophe Moreaux is taking is bearings more clearly towards representational art and using a new material: gold leaf, but stays faithful to acrylic, which has the advantage of drying quickly. He mixes the colour with his fingers right on the canvas. His technique may seem crude, but the result is always subtle and original. His creations are different from those of all other artists.
Chirstophe Moraux invented himself a very personnal and unclassifiable style.
